Your tour guides on this site are Jake and Marsha, true Anglophiles and lovers of all things English, for all sorts of reasons, hence the name, England For All Reasons. We created this site to share the many reasons why we love England—and the rest of UK—and never tire of touring this “green and pleasant land.”
What do we hope to accomplish with this site? After multiple journeys, from the time we lived there in the ’70s to more recent visits that began in 2002, we felt it was time to share our impressions of the “real” United Kingdom, away from the typical tourist sites, with insights into what to expect when there. For first-time travelers, we hope to be a rich source of information and tips. For repeat travelers perhaps you will find info to tuck away for your next visit. Be aware, this is NOT a “find-the-cheapest-way-to-visit” site where the focus is on super cheap airfare, hostels or cheap eats. What you will find is a focus on what you might miss if you just stick to the typical tourist treks.
For our readers who may wonder why we haven’t included Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland in our site name, don’t despair, we love them, too! It was just that to us, England For All Reasons has a nice sound.
